Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)

Measures to protect our patients and staff

To ensure that we can maintain safe and high quality standards of care for our patients we have taken the following steps:

No visiting

Absolutely no visits to inpatients except in the following cases:

  • Children up to the age of 14 may be visited by their parents.
  • Patients in a critical condition may be visited by close relatives, by arrangement with the hospital (T: +43 1 360 66-0).

Fathers may be present for childbirth and may remain in the hospital afterwards (family rooms). If the father leaves the hospital, he is then classified as a visitor and will not be permitted to re-enter. Visiting is not permitted by fathers who do not attend the birth; sibling children are not allowed to visit. We are taking this measure to protect mothers and newborn babies.

Thank you for your understanding!

Checkpoints

Entrance to the hospital is only possible via designated checkpoints, without exception. Anyone wishing to enter the hospital, and who is not excluded from doing so by our access restrictions, will be met by trained staff who will take them through the officially recommended screening questionnaire. Hand sanitization is also required at the checkpoints, and is supervised by trained members of staff.

Information on posters and online

Please read the posters displayed at entrance points, and see our website and Facebook pages, for the key rules for conduct in connection with possible infection, and the current ban on visiting patients in the hospital.

Staff checks

Our employees are obliged to comply with travel bans and warnings, and to inform their supervisors immediately if anyone amongst their personal contacts is suspected to be ill, is quarantined or unwell, so that the hospital can take the appropriate measures. Employees who have recently visited a risk area or country are prohibited from entering the hospital, in accordance with the current guidelines.

Webinars, events suspended

Information evenings and presentations on childbirth will be given as webinars.
Courses and other services are suspended until further notice.

The March information evening at the Goldenes Kreuz Fertility Center has been canceled.
The Fertility Center has a webpage for patients providing information in connection with the coronavirus.
